Renovation

            Authors Note: The author’s purpose for this piece is to show how Conflict/Resolution is assorted towards Lina and shows how she has grown from the beginning of the story till the end.

                        Have you ever wanted to renovate something really bad? Well you should see City of Ember. It needs renovation really badly and there is one problem to that. It has no sunlight, Ember is dark all day and the only light is when the lamps are turned on and that’s not all lot at all and it only stays on for about 5 hours each day. Lina and Door really want to make Ember a good city for everyone.  Although Lina is a very sophisticated girl, she has a lot to learn before she makes many of these decisions she makes.

            First of all Lina and Doon didn’t really “renovate” Ember because in the end they both left Ember and then they threw a note down the tunnel from Ember to Earth. They wanted to leave Ember and take a look what Earth looks like because they have been in Ember for the last 12 years. With no sun or anything, that’s a tough life if you ask me. These kids have to deal with being in the dark all day and working on Ember to make it a better city.

            To conclude this essay ; in the beginning Lina always wanted to help herself and in the end she wanted to help Ember by going to Earth and exploring for a little bit to see what it was like and then come back and help Ember.  Lina grew greatly and changed a lot throughout the story. She was a true hero. She saved the race of mankind and now, forever the race shall live on. Although Lina is a very sophisticated girl, she has a lot to learn before she makes many of these decisions she makes.
