What do you think you would do when it has been raining for seven years? Probably just stay inside and wait for seven years for it to actually not rain for two hours. Why do you think everybody was so rude to Margo? She was originally from earth and she has seen earth and how sunny it is and I think the kids are probably jealous of that. They are jealous and are mean to Margo. In the short story “All Summer in a Day,” by Ray Bradbury, we can see that the mode of literature is ironic by its plotline, characteristics, and symbolism.
On the plotline of “All Summer in a Day” you can kind of tell it’s an irony or a tragedy because it’s kind of sad because William locked her in the closet. Some of the characteristics that fit Irony and All Summer in a Day is the main character are weak. In All Summer in a Day the main character, Margo is totally not in control if she was in control she would have not let William lock her in the closet. She would have done something about it or try and gotten free or something that would let her sees the sun for one time.
Another thing that goes on the plotline is #1 it says the world is in chaos. The world is in chaos because Margo moved to Venus she was probably really liked it at Earth so it was probably really hard for Margo to leave. I could never imagine leaving Earth to go to Venus that doesn’t have any sun for more than 7 years straight it is all rain, rain, and more rain for more than seven years. When the sun comes out for only 2 hours but its only one day.
All summer in a day is an irony. It is an irony because when the sun was about to come and Margo was about to see it William locked her in a closet so she couldn't see the sun. She would have to wait seven more years to see it. He is a big jerk that wants to make a good impression on all of the kids that are in their class. I mean why would you lock Margo in a closet when the sun is about to come for only two hours it just doesn't make sense he's just mean. That was her only chance to see the sun and now it's gone.
The story was about this girl Margo that is on this planet Venus. There are a lot of kids on Venus their planet. Margo was originally from Earth but then her parents made her go to planet Venus. But then Margo figured out that the sun only comes out from the clouds and stops raining only for two hours. I feel bad for Margo because she was from Earth and I don't know what it would be like to have it rain and be dark for more than 7 years and never see the sun for more than seven years. That’s sad. Then the sun only comes out for two hours. But when it was about time William he's a boy that is really mean he tricks Margo and locks her in the closet so she can't see the sun and would have to wait seven more years to see it. That is why I think of All Summer in a Day.
